Julia Atkinson served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal (2013-2015), dove with sharks off an island in Sumatra, got a tattoo in the rainforest of Borneo, and slept under the stars with Bedouins in Jordan. She feels that solo travel has built up her confidence and flexibility, and given her a new perspective for critiquing her own culture. She hopes to share some of her travel tips through this blog and empower others to undertake their own adventures.
